Henderson ISD is committed to meeting students where they are and providing the support they need to succeed. As part of this commitment, Dr. Christopher Chambers announced to his staff this afternoon that he will be moving from his role as principal at Northside Intermediate to join the team at our District Alternative Education Program (DAEP) and P.R.I.D.E. Academy. In this new role, Dr. Chambers will work under Principal Holly Perry, focusing on his passion for one-on-one mentoring and guiding students as they overcome challenges. In the meantime, Assistant Superintendent Dea Henry will step in as interim principal at Northside Intermediate. With her extensive experience and dedication, Ms. Henry will provide steady leadership and continuity for the school community. We appreciate Dr. Chambers’ ongoing dedication to our students and the entire Henderson ISD community, and we look forward to the positive impact he will bring to DAEP and P.R.I.D.E. Academy. Our commitment remains to provide education support for every child in the district.

Reminder!! Next week is Book Fair week at Northside! Parents and grandparents are welcome to come eat lunch with your student and shop at the book fair. We are trying to spread lunch visitors out so it doesn't get too crowded, but if you are unable to come on your assigned day pick another day that works!

Renewals will be open throughout the entire month of July. Current season ticket holders will receive detailed renewal instructions via email by the end of June 2024. The email will outline the simple steps to ensure a seamless renewal process. If you prefer to purchase tickets in person, you can come to the Student Activity Center on the High School Campus from July 22nd to July 26th between 8 am and 3 pm. If you are NOT a current ticket holder, you will have the opportunity to pick out your tickets beginning August 8, 2024. HISD will be serving meals at no charge to all children ages 0-18 from June 3rd -28th at the middle school bus shuttle area Monday - Thursday from 11:15-12pm. Friday’s lunch will be sent on Thursdays. Children do not have to be in the car if the adult in the car is the parent or guardian. If the adult in the car is not the parent or guardian, the child will need to be in the car in order to receive a meal. We will be verifying the child’s name and age, and you will receive a placard to hang each time you come. If a child is not in the district, you can bring the child or proof of child’s enrollment. No duplicate meals are allowed. If a child is at summer academy or doing summer workouts, they will receive a meal there.
