Henderson ISD is committed to meeting students where they are and providing the support they need to succeed. As part of this commitment, Dr. Christopher Chambers announced to his staff this afternoon that he will be moving from his role as principal at Northside Intermediate to join the team at our District Alternative Education Program (DAEP) and P.R.I.D.E. Academy. In this new role, Dr. Chambers will work under Principal Holly Perry, focusing on his passion for one-on-one mentoring and guiding students as they overcome challenges.
In the meantime, Assistant Superintendent Dea Henry will step in as interim principal at Northside Intermediate. With her extensive experience and dedication, Ms. Henry will provide steady leadership and continuity for the school community.
We appreciate Dr. Chambers’ ongoing dedication to our students and the entire Henderson ISD community, and we look forward to the positive impact he will bring to DAEP and P.R.I.D.E. Academy. Our commitment remains to provide education support for every child in the district.

Reminder!! Next week is Book Fair week at Northside! Parents and grandparents are welcome to come eat lunch with your student and shop at the book fair. We are trying to spread lunch visitors out so it doesn't get too crowded, but if you are unable to come on your assigned day pick another day that works!

Welcome back!! Here is a quick reminder about Northside drop off and pick up:
Drop off starts at 7:10 AM - Gates open at 7:10 and close at 7:40
Pick up begins at 3:20 - Gates close at 3:40, after 3:40 you must come inside to pick up your student
4th grade students - drop off and pick up at the back of the school
5th grade students - drop off and pick up by the 5th grade hallway
PLEASE DO NOT MAKE A LEFT TURN INTO THE PICKUP LINES FROM VAN BUREN IN ORDER TO KEEP TRAFFIC FLOWING FOR THE SCHOOL BUSES
Reminder!! Cell phone usage within school zones is prohibited (unless with a hands free device) under Section 545.425 of the Texas Transportation Code. Campus SROs will issue written warnings for the first offense. Citations will be issued for subsequent offenses. Let's keep our children safe!

Football fans, mark your calendars! Season ticket holders are invited to renew their tickets for the upcoming season starting July 1, 2024. Renewals will be open throughout the entire month of July.
Current season ticket holders will receive detailed renewal instructions via email by the end of June 2024. The email will outline the simple steps to ensure a seamless renewal process. If you prefer to purchase tickets in person, you can come to the Student Activity Center on the High School Campus from July 22nd to July 26th between 8 am and 3 pm.
If you are NOT a current ticket holder, you will have the opportunity to pick out your tickets beginning August 8, 2024.

UPDATE: Power has been restored at all HISD campuses. All Summer Academy programs and summer classes will resume as scheduled tomorrow, Wednesday, June 5th. Thank you for your patience and thanks to everyone who worked hard today to help our kids return to classes!
Dear HISD Families,
Despite class cancellations, HISD staff are still serving summer meals today at no cost for all children 0-18 years old. Meals will be available for pick up today from 11:15 AM - 12 Noon at the Middle School bus lanes.

(Tuesday, June 4, 2024, 6:30AM) Due to ongoing power outages caused by severe storms overnight, all Summer Academy and summer school in-person classes are canceled for today. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. - HISD Admin
HISD will be serving meals at no charge to all children ages 0-18 from June 3rd -28th at the middle school bus shuttle area Monday - Thursday from 11:15-12pm.
Friday’s lunch will be sent on Thursdays.
Children do not have to be in the car if the adult in the car is the parent or guardian.
If the adult in the car is not the parent or guardian, the child will need to be in the car in order to receive a meal. We will be verifying the child’s name and age, and you will receive a placard to hang each time you come. If a child is not in the district, you can bring the child or proof of child’s enrollment. No duplicate meals are allowed. If a child is at summer academy or doing summer workouts, they will receive a meal there.
Reminder!! Thursday, May 23rd is early dismissal at 12:20.
HHS Graduation Information! Balloons, confetti canons, and air horns will NOT be allowed in to the stadium. ¡Información para Graduación! NO se permitirán la entrada al estadio globos, cañones de confeti o bocinas de aire.
